- Open stance up slightly to provide a more stable/comfortable base to allow weight to press forwards or backwards as required (and contribute towards setting up stronger bases to hit from front foot)
- Work with a comfortable stride front foot to allow weight to transfer through ball on contact (quite short at times - narrow stance will increase the likelihood of falling into the ball rather than setting up a purposeful stride)
- Ensure head/eyes remain level and not falling off-side to pickup line/length and provide plenty of opportunity to play down the ground as required
- Hit from strong positions and time, relax hands somewhat and aim to get a good clean contact over throwing the kitchen sink at balls (increased likelihood of getting a good contact)
