Session emphasis: Playing v New Ball Red ball scenario Balance & Positions established: Good Footwork: Good Ball Striking: Very Good Session Objectives met rating: 7/10 Willingness to ask questions: 5/10 Attitude towards listening & own development: Excellent |

Areas worked on:
Application, temperament and shot selection against the new red ball
Positive Outcomes:
Left the ball well, set his stall out to bat for a long period but remained positive with his approach and movements, including attacking balls when he felt they were in his strong area/s (full outside off and working full'ish balls off the legs through on-side)
Opportunities for improvement:
Worked across balls attacking the stumps with the ball primarily swinging away. Identified the risks involved so he is aware, understands this, however his execution of the shots on this occasion tended to be very good. Early on could look to try and play with less risk and hit down the ground, if balance/stability allows this (remain upright as much as possible; head & eyes level providing opportunity)
Recommendations for next session:
Drills playing down the ground focusing on well balanced positions and head remaining level as much/long as possible allowing weight through the ball down the ground on contact. Feed this onto machine and challenge

Player own reflections:
Felt I batted well and was happy with the shots I made. Left the ball well but maybe took too many risks trying to hit the ball leg side when I should probably play straighter especially with the ball swinging away from me.
