BATTING
Stance:
Opened feet up slightly in an effort to setup a more comfortable, better balanced position to press forwards or backwards.
Front Foot:
Tendency to fall into straight balls on the stumps due to head falling slightly off-side (does make outside off-stump a real strength as weight is going that way, but susceptible to missing more balls on the stumps through having to work hands across through mid-wicket/square leg region as opposed to down the ground) rather than establishing a strong position to hit from. Aim to keep head upright to setup stronger positions on front foot and allow more opportunity to score down the ground between mid off & mid-on.
Back Foot:
When playing on the back foot, determine the line (as well as length of course) as quickly as possible and calculate when needing to stay compact (on the stumps or just outside off) to stand tall on the bounce and allow bat to push straight through the ball. When given more width outside off stump, aim to go back and across setting up a strong position with feet and hit from high to low on the ball with arms extended. Ensure weight is transferring through the ball and head leaning into/over the ball on contact to stay on top of the bounce and generate sufficient power.
