Ensure that hands don't start too high and are well placed to come up with the bounce of the ball with little opportunity for the ball to go beneath the hands.
Try to catch the ball with as little movement with the head/eyes as possible.

BATTING
- Feet at least shoulder width apart starting out with a strong, well balanced, comfortable position
- Try to work with a slightly bigger stride when playing front foot, currently not getting quite as much weight through the ball as ideal as a result of setting up a short'ish stride and will also encourage playing away from the body and potentially in the air making contact while the bat is on the upswing. Try to get out at the ball a little further setting up a stronger position, bending front knee to allow head/weight through/over the ball to generate power.
- Relax hands/arms a little more, currently a little stiff when bringing them through the ball which can create a bit of a jerky motion with the bat rather than a fluent stroke to time more effectively.

KEEPING
- Ensure feet are just outside hip width and weight on balls of feet to create a strong position to move laterally. - Hands/body a little lower than previous to be better placed to come up with the ball still and catch the majority of balls - currently having to go down to gather a high percentage of deliveries which makes Joe susceptible to missing balls under his hands (for me hands don't have to go all the way to the floor when standing back, but do need to be in a good position to catch the majority of balls - i.e. in a position which means it is highly unlikely of having to go downwards, only UP with the bounce of the ball). - When ball is coming inside hips try to just come up with the bounce and not rotate head/hips to go off-balance. Also make sure thumbs are wide open presenting a big catching area and start just out in front of body allowing for room to bring the ball in with relaxed hands. - Try to make sure weight is pressed slightly forward and onto balls of feet in setup so that when the ball arrives it doesn't encourage weight to fall backwards |
