RHB / RA Leg Spin
Conisbrough CC
Delivers the ball when off balance, front foot contact just about takes place as the ball is being released.
Approach/Run-up is quite quick for a leg spinner and this feeds through his arms in delivery with quite a 'whippy' action/rotation (difficult to approach with a fair amount of momentum being created and then slow the arms up to deliver at a good pace to spin, and have good control of where the ball is landing).
Try to find a natural pace, but which allows you to deliver from a stable, strong, well balanced delivery position allowing arms to be in rythmn (not so rushed).
Areas to work on:
Standing drills from back foot contact, allowing arms the opportunity to work together, in rythmn and slower than at present.
Achieved from standing drills back foot contact (both feet at a 45 degree angle from the crease line, front foot ever so slightly across back foot, to not be too open in upper body and allow for a strong rotational hip drive). Stride forwards purposefully setting up a strong, stable delivery base, front arm locked in strong and rotating through action without rushing.
Then go from a couple of walking paces, working on the same thing, striding forward purposefully, setting up a strong, stable position at delivery, and eventually go from a few more paces (personally don't think you need more than 5-6 paces as it will encourage you to build up momentum, which isn't absolutely necessary).
