RA Leg Break / RHB
Eckington CC

Goals / Objectives leading into 2016:

BOWLING:
Approach to crease is from quite a wide angle coming in towards the stumps late/sharply into delivery stride. This will mean with such weight pushing in that direction it's difficult to get as many revs on the ball as could be achieved by being slightly straighter into delivery. Also an added risk of straining lower back.

Opportunities for improvement:
Slightly straighter approach providing better opportunity to generate a more powerful/forceful right hip drive towards the batsman.
Ensure run up is controlled, rythmic and repeatable.
BATTING:
In stance:
  • Ensure feet are ideally shoulder width apart & weight on balls of feet to allow weight to shift forwards or backwards depending on the length of the ball. (look quite narrow at the moment which may make it harder to get a stride out towards the ball when playing on front foot).
  • Try to have head as near to over the line of feet as possible, currently creating a leaning effect by not straightening back out more which means weight is already leaning off-side (see picture below....will make it very difficult to play straight balls down the ground & likely to encourage going across leg-side).

Try to take emphasis away from just relying on hand/bat speed through the ball and work from better/stronger positions with better balance allowing weight to transfer through the ball more than at present - better positions can only be achieved with a
