Batting:
Head position key to allow the opportunity to get into better (more balanced) positions when the ball is straight or leg-side. Off side will be a main strength, with so much weight leaning that way, but having difficulties when the ball is towards the body without any width.
Remaining more upright in his stance will cater for his head to remain level, therefore enabling him to establish better positions front (large percentage will be front foot play) or back foot (rarely challenged at his age yet).
Tends to lean back a little and push at the ball, encouraged to try to let the ball come and play later, accompanied by upper body trying to lean more into and over the ball at point of contact, in an effort to keep the ball on the floor and hit with better control (as well as power courtesy of weight into the ball).

Bowling:
- Be consistent with which foot you set off with at the end of your run to make run up as repeatable as possible - Smooth approach when getting stride pattern right. Consistent amount of momentum from start to finish, try to open strides up and attack the crease with a little more purpose if possible. - Slight jump inwards to the crease on occasions (not all the time). Try to manage that with only a gentle angle in to RHB so as to allow best opportunity to continue driving weight/momentum forwards to the target. - Purposeful stride length at delivery position. Front knee bends a little, difficult to remain upright with a braced front leg at such a young age, due to struggling to have the strength to carry upper body, but try to be as strong as possible through front foot contact to allow energy to flow up the body with braced front leg. - Release point is good, but has a tendency on occasions to fall away a little and lose his control, pulling more down the leg-side to RHB when this occurs. Try to remain upright a bit more consistently, which again will allow weight to drive forwards and wrist in behind the ball to manipulate the ball better over time and as he gets older. |
