Jack Bleazard
Session Plan/Objective:
Red ball work focusing on being prepared to bat time, to build an innings without the added pressure to score runs at a good/quick rate. Show a willingness to leave the ball & to be proactive with plans/tactical approach. |

- Very good hand/eye co-ordination which can make up for a slight lack of footwork on occasions, most notably balls outside off-stump where he has a keen willingness to release the hands.
- Very open bat lift, thus making it quite difficult to get a good contact on balls on occasions and can be found 'slicing' through balls on contact. - Front Foot: Tended to hit more balls square of the wicket than was trying to, courtesy of slicing effect with open face on contact. Looked to play positively and hands worked well allowing good ball striking at times despite a slight lack of footwork. - Back Foot: Similarly, tended to make contact with face open and guide behind square and often away from the body. - Second round showed a real willingness to try to work with bat face a little more closed to try to allow for a better contact on downswing. Immediate success with more of the full face on show than previous, and proof was in how well he hit some balls; front foot especially – very well. - Made very good strides and quick adjustment. More repetition work required to become more familiar with slight change to hands/bat lift but excellent willingness to listen, learn and adapt. |
