Front Foot:
Works with a good stride towards the pitch of the ball and establishes a strong, well balanced position and thus has the potential to hit the ball very well. Can tend to lean over with head off-side though and strong bottom hand pull through the ball which tends to close the face and result in not getting desired contact.

Areas to work on:
- Can tend to close the face in backswing slightly, but often can correct on the downswing, probably courtesy of strong bottom hand opening it back outwards. Keep an eye on and try to give every opportunity to put full face through the ball at contact when playing straight to hit well. - Stronger through top hand, wrist & forearm in an effort to have hands working together more than at present (strong bottom hand with slight separation at hands), which will allow hands the freedom to stroke through the ball and time more effectively. Currently strong bottom hand is dragging down/across the ball on occasions. - Head/eyes to remain level to allow opportunity to play straight balls down the ground, can fall over slightly which will encourage working across balls forcing leg-side, which presents a greater risk. Remain well balanced in stance with eyes level to create the chance to score down the ground playing balls on the line they're on to seam bowlers for less risk (certainly early doors). |

Back Foot:
Can hit the ball well at times and is keen to be positive. Tended to drag hands across the ball creating a slicing effect courtesy of leaving front foot/shoulder open and looked to get hands through balls which were getting quite high.

Areas to work on:
- Balls off-stump and just outside, aim to get 'in behind' more, courtesy of getting across back foot, but taking front foot with it also to remain more side on (to straighter balls and those angled leg-side, then opening up slightly is necessary). Currently front foot is opening round, squaring shoulders up which encourages the hands to pull across the ball through mid-wicket - Be decisive with what balls are in an area to put hands through without having to worry too much about the ball bouncing and getting big (i.e. balls around waist high can be punched off the back foot, whereas balls more stomach/chest high are getting big and therefore difficult to remain on top of, and hit well without going aerial) |
