Zwingo; Balance, Alignment - Access to the ball
Back Foot playing in front of square on instinct/as habit, instead of running down to third man
Sidearm - Swinging ball with Red Ball field being patience, selective but positive

Zwingo helped Harry focus on his balance and access to the ball through stationary position with just hands striking the ball, and then front foot moving off to access and press weight through. This coincided with intervention poles just outside off-stump to subconsciously allow Harry to remain well balanced to transfer his weight forwards through straight balls.
Harry coped well against the swinging ball with attacking field set. He played the ball late and didn't look to be too reckless. Ideas about his stance to LA over were discussed and it was identified probably best suited to moving over to middle stump at least (currently takes off-stump guard). |

Footwork, hitting over the top
Footwork, hitting over the top
Began the session working on a continuation of the one before through challenging him to use his feet down the wicket remaining as upright as he can with his head, enabling him good access to the ball and playing in all areas.
Then challenged Harry to work the ball into particular areas from the bowling machine for approx 45 minutes, incorporating running between the wickets for fitness and bringing fatigue into consideration.
Positive outcomes and he found a way of getting the ball into areas which was difficult at times. Tended to have his hands try to manipulate the ball, spoke about the possibility of his body creating better angles to compliment his hands. Along with discussing the actual likely areas the gaps will open up in games.

Finding out Session - Trial and error looking to attack as many balls as possible, predominantly over the top. Reading length and discovering what Harry can/can't get under, feeding into his shot selection moving forwards.
Harry used his feet well, would fall off-side on occasions limiting his options, discussed the benefits of trying to remain more upright which isn't always easy when using his feet. Encouraged to get his hands right through the ball when hitting over the top, had a tendency to be tentative Really good outcomes with Harry hitting a lot of good quality balls and well over the top. Surprised himself how well he would strike the ball. Should take a lot of confidence from the session and feed into future footwork and hitting over the top drills. |

First proper training session for a couple of weeks, emphasis was on observation & getting back into the groove of batting...
- Looked to be positive front foot, tended to get good contact on balls and tried to have a positive mindset throughout.
- Can have a tendency to lean off-side just prior to delivery, leaving himself a little vulnerable to balls attacking the stumps (front foot planting across slightly), but did manage to find a way to access and hit balls well through mid-wicket with good hands and striking the ball effectively, despite the risk.
- Back foot: looked to use the pace and 'follow' the ball swinging away from him, meaning outcome tended to be hitting through slip cordon round to backward point. Challenged to hit in front of square, considering gaps in cover & extra cover and Harry immediately got closer to the ball (not spinning his front foot around squaring up)
