Coaching Profile:
Daniel Clarke

Batting
Areas to work on:
- Stance; ensure front foot is not "blocking off" by being past the line of the back foot (feet & shoulders in line)

- Head/eyes remaining level as much/often as possible for the best view of the ball coming towards and weigh up the line/line of the ball and react accordingly.

- Balls angled in towards the legs, where possible try to get straight (full face = less risk). If the ball is likely to hit your legs in stance, get towards mid-on angle? If brushing legs or wider then work with wrists rolling and aim towards mid-wicket/square leg region as there should not be the risk of getting bowled or LBW.

- Getting closer to balls outside off stump (front foot close & head over the ball meeting it on the angle) - rather than relying heavily on hands to make contact away from the body

- Strong top hand to encourage both hands to work together and make contact with the full face of the bat coming through when hitting

Bowling
Builds up a good amount of momentum through run up and into delivery and has the ability to swing the ball nicely. Strong load up (gather) position heading into delivery.

- Areas to work on:

Alignment
Standing taller at release (head more upright), gaining more strength from front leg and aiming to have it braced as straight as possible to support upper body and offer a high release point (as well as the opportunity to deliver the ball on a good length more consistently - collapsing front leg can mean an increased likelihood of dragging the ball down shorter).

- Arms working straighter - (this should be aided by the above alignment work). Load up being straighter with both arms - working in conjunction with alignment
